Three Years!

Three Years! published on

Hey! Surprisingly, I’m still alive. I know it’s been a while but I wanted to give an update for the comic’s third anniversary.

Really sorry for the lack of pages lately. This year has been brutal on my schedule and mental, so I haven’t really had any time to update the comic.

The good news is that next year I’ll actually have some free time (fingers crossed).

Either way, looking into ways to finish pages faster. Expect a more experimental art style going forwards. The quality of the art might drop a bit, maybe even a lot, but something is better than nothing. And hey, if it’s quick enough I might move back to a weekly schedule (obviously no promises yet).

As always, thanks for reading! Next page will probably be out by mid-December.

Schedule Update

Schedule Update published on

Hi! With Chapter 2 starting up, I figured I’d give a general update on how things are going. Initially I had a long post that had a bunch of preamble, but honestly I’d rather just get straight to the point.

The comic’s uploads will no longer follow a weekly schedule, at least for the time being.

New pages will still be posted, but they won’t follow a strict upload schedule.

There are a few reasons for this. My work schedule makes it really difficult to get a page done each week, due to factors both in my control (working on a different project) and out of my control (ongoing health issues, full-time job, etc.). Additionally, a lot of life stuff took priority since the last update, meaning that I haven’t done nearly enough work that I wanted to do. This year is incredibly busy for me, and I don’t see it getting any less so in the future.

And after trying to force comic work into my busy schedule, somehow, burnout returned. So now the problem isn’t just how much time I have available, it’s also staying motivated to work on the comic at all.

I know this isn’t the update anyone wanted to hear, myself included. I really do love this series, and I don’t ever want to abandon it. But posting it online and trying to adhere to a strict schedule has severely impacted how much I enjoy making it.

It might take some time, but I want to love making it again. Thanks for reading.

Two Years!

Two Years! published on

Woah! It’s been two years since Lesser Quest launched!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, huge thanks to everyone who has read the comic, you absolute legends.

Now, how’s Chapter 2 coming along? Well, progress has been slower/more inconsistent than I’d like, but after many revisions the script is finished & layouts are almost done! That means the Chapter 2 pages will start being made pretty soon (give or take a bit, there’s still some miscellaneous bits of art/website stuff to take care of).

Next post will be a basic recap of Chapter 1 sometime mid-May, then Chapter 2 pages should be up May 30th, 2025. I’ll let you know if anything happens to the schedule (unlikely but weirder things have happened before).

Can’t wait to continue the story! There’s still lots to get done first, so see ya later!

Chapter 1 Wrap-Up

Chapter 1 Wrap-Up published on

Wow, it feels absolutely surreal that Chapter 1 is finished. Massive thanks to everyone who has read the comic.

Now then, what’s next? Expect old friends and new foes in Chapter 2: All Caught Up!
So when’s the comic coming back? Next year.
Why the long wait? Three reasons: burnout, prep work, and buffer.

During most of the second half of Chapter 1, I’d frequently work overnight to get pages done on a weekly basis (and if you’ve been a weekly reader, then you know that “weekly basis” is a bit of a stretch). Most of them were posted the morning of release. I love the comic, but I need some rest.

There’s a lot of prep to do before Chapter 2 is ready. Some small stuff like post icons, character art, and promo art. Then some big stuff like script work, page thumbnails, and page sketches.

This time around, I wanna build up a large buffer. That way, there are fewer disruptions to the upload schedule (hopefully). I’m aiming to use roughly half of the break to build up a buffer (if everything goes according to plan).

With that out of the way, Chapter 2 will arrive on May 30th, 2025.

See ya then!

Page Update: 005

Page Update: 005 published on

Things are pretty hectic right now, just going to take two weeks off to get things back in order.

That being said, we’re almost at the end of Chapter 1! There’ll be a post later with more details, but basically once Chapter 1 finishes I’m going to take a break for a few months, then onto Chapter 2!

Anyways, next page should be up on July 5th, see ya then!

One Year!

One Year! published on

Hey, what’s all this about?

One year ago, the first pages of Lesser Quest were published! It might not seem like a lot to some, but it means the world to me. Comics were always a huge part of my life, and so I’ve wanted to make one since forever. This comic started in July 2019 with a handful of random sketches, and well, here we are!

So, what’s next?

First off, pages will also be uploaded to Tapas starting from today! They’ll be released in chunks at the same time Webtoons pages are posted, and should be caught up by around next February.

As for the comic itself, there are roughly 30 pages left in Chapter 1, meaning it should wrap up around next July/August. Will our ragtag group of misfits finally defeat the bandits? (Based on their track record, probably not.)

Beyond that, Chapter 2 is on the horizon!

And that’s that! Huge thanks to everyone who has read the comic, you absolute legends.

New pages arrive on January 26th, 2024, see ya then!
